The Southern Ngaliya Dance Camp has been a long time collaboration for Incite Arts and this year, a group of 17 Warlpiri traditional dancers, aged from 6yrs old upwards, were invited to dance at the 40th Anniversary of Handback of Uluru, over two days.
It was a very special event, attended by Custodians, Traditional Owners, Premiers, and the Prime Minister. At the Sunset Stage, with the magnificent Uluru as the back drop, bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun, the dancers performed two traditional dances. On day 2 they danced for the full CLC council at Mutitjulu.
The dancers received a fantastic response from the audience and after they danced, we all relaxed for a moment to enjoy the rest of the concert being given by an eclectic mix of artists and musicians. A beautiful evening was had by all.
The entire 4 days was a great adventure (thank you Sylvia and Georgia) and dancers alike.
