Mitch Mitchell

Mitch (they/he) has spent much of their career working in public libraries around Naarm (Melbourne) and Boorloo (Perth). In these spaces they have developed a solid foundation of skills in youth and community engagement, events and programs, technology, administration, and communication.

More recently (and after a brief sojourn working at a goat dairy), they have expanded their career into other community spaces, including working for a health organisation in Mparntwe (Alice Springs) where they led a small team, oversaw day-to-day operations and provided strategic direction.

Mitch started working with Incite Arts in November 2023, providing support to the organisation. They act as the first contact for the Incite office and are responsible for providing administrative support to all staff and programs. They perform general office duties to support operations and more tailored support across the programs Incite Arts holds.

In addition to their paid roles, they have their own creative practice, focussed on textile arts and writing. They have been involved in developing community arts projects including Along the Merri Merri, a one-day multi-disciplinary event on and about the Merri Merri creek.

Mitch is committed to the principles of community development and social justice, seated in structural and anti-racist analyses. Their career objective is to utilise their skills to be in service to marginalised communities under a framework of self-determination.
