In the final semester before the summer holiday season, Incite Arts facilitated a creative collaboration between Ross Park Primary School and fantastic artist Tamara Cornthwaite, to create a beautiful, vividly colourful, multilayered mural for the school yard.
The students from various years all had input into the content and look of the mural, with artist Tamara producing gorgeous digital animation renderings of how the layers of brush work and stencilling would build texture and accumulate into the final intricate, powerfully vibrant artwork.
Tamara worked in sessions with each class over the course of weeks, adding ideas on content from the students and guiding them to hand draw, paint, stencil, spray etc, using multiple different techniques to apply the various ‘moments’ across the wall.
The mural is a great success, something that students and teachers alike enjoy… and truely a piece of artwork that you see something new and different in on each viewing.
